2017 fall colors Northern Michigan
The fall color season is, at least, two or three weeks behind right now.
The colors are barely showing anywhere in Northern Michigan right now.
Some sparse colors on the edges of trees along Mitchell Road outside of Petoskey.
Mitchell road in Petoskey is looking like the leaves might fall before changing colors this year on the sugar maples.
Harbor Springs is seeing less than 5% color and M-119 is barely showing any color too.
Along the I-75 corridor there was no color change either.
Typically the colors will change first inland and then along the Great Lakes.
If you are looking for a great weekend for color I would wait at least two more weeks.
Today is going to be sunny and 75ish.
We need a few colder nights to get the colors changing and thinking about winter.
It is a great time to buy here in Northern Michigan. The warm weather has extended our Summer this year and extended our boating and water season.
Come up and enjoy our beautiful area!
