Because of a diversified real estate background and a continued commitment to excellence, I have acquired a record of proven accomplishments in new development, resort, and general real estate sales.
I began my real estate career in 1989 when I joined American County Development, in Harbor Springs, Michigan as the On-Site Sales Agent for Trout Creek Condominium Resort. Shortly thereafter, in addition to handling sales at Trout Creek, I became the Rental Property Manager and Home Owner Association Manager. This valuable experience helped me gain an understanding of the resort lifestyle, and in turn, allowed me to develop an outstanding ability in sales and marketing of resort properties. In 1993, I joined Boyne USA. Throughout my career with Boyne, I assisted in the development and sales of numerous new single and multi-family golf course and resort related projects. I have been involved in numerous successful product launches and sales campaigns resulting in over two hundred million dollars of real estate sold. I joined RE/MAX of Petoskey in March 2000, as an Associate Broker, bringing over a decade of outstanding experience in selling residential, resort and country club style living.
I received the Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) Designation in June of 2001. This accreditation allows me to represent in confidence the many buyers who come to me for advice and guidance. With continued dedication to my field, I earned the prestigious Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) designation in December 2001. The designation, given by The Council of Residential Specialists, is earned by only 5% of realtors nationwide. Having achieved these coveted credentials, buyers and sellers can be assured I have the education, experience, and track record to assist clients in maximizing profits and minimizing loss when selling or buying their property.
In November of 2004, I fulfilled a long term goal and started my own real estate brokerage – the Hartwick Realty Group, specializing in the development, marketing, and sale of Luxury & Resort Properties.
In 2006, I began studying and gaining information on Fractional Sales, Private Residence Clubs, and Multi-Site Destination Clubs. The added knowledge of fractional sales strategies, market trends, positioning, affiliations, and profit margins allows me to represent fractional properties with confidence.
Today, I enjoy marketing and selling general real estate, resort real estate, with an expert knowledge in project sales.
I am an active member of the Emmet Association of Realtors, Harbor Springs Chamber of Commerce, and my church. I regularly attend conferences, seminars and trade shows to enhance my industry knowledge. In my free time, my family and I enjoy the numerous amenities of northern Michigan. As a former college tennis player and past tennis professional, I still enjoy competitive tennis. I am an avid golfer, enjoy downhill skiing, and play recreational ice hockey. My wife, Trish, also a real estate agent, and I along with our 18 year-old son Will, live in Harbor Springs.
